WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?
Maternity sessions are ideally done between weeks 32 and 36 of pregnancy, so it's best to book around week 28.
For a newborn session, it’s advisable to book before the baby is born to ensure availability, as these sessions are held during the first 15 days of life.
Family sessions can be scheduled at any time, so you can book as soon as you decide (ideally with 2-3 weeks' notice). Keep in mind that I am also a mother, and thus my availability is limited, especially during school holidays. To give you an idea, I only conduct 6 outdoor sessions per month.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
Wardrobe is important. The clothes we choose say a lot about us.
The clothing you select for the photo session will influence the final result. We can go for a more harmonious style or a more lifestyle or documentary style. Both are valid and beautiful. It depends on what you want to convey.
Before the session, we’ll discuss and I will provide detailed advice on what to wear for you and your family.
I will also give you additional recommendations to ensure the session goes smoothly. You will receive all the details in writing at the time of booking.
WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW TO POSE? WHAT IF MY CHILDREN DON'T WANT TO TAKE PHOTOS?
It’s not about posing. If it’s a maternity session and there are no children yet, the goal is to connect with your baby, caress them, talk to them, and connect with your partner… and let yourselves go with the flow. Don’t worry if you feel a bit lost—I’ll guide you to ensure the result is both beautiful and natural.
If it’s a session with children, we’ll play a lot during the session. We’ll let the kids explore the surroundings, fall, laugh, and cry. We won’t force them to look at the camera and smile if they don’t want to, as in a few years we’ll want to remember them as they were, not as we made them be. In fact, I might not be taking photos the entire time; I’ll engage with them in searching for ants or blowing bubbles if needed. And for the older ones, we’ll join in the play. There will be kisses and hugs, lots of them.
